Abstract
A clinical analysis of sixty patients diagnosed as intrauterine adhesion (IUA) by hysterosalpingography in respect of the suspected etiology of IUA, menstrual pattern and fertility problem was made from March, 1990 to November, 1992. Among 60
patients
with IUA, Secondary infertility was in 41.7%, the most common etiologic factor of IUA was endometrial curettage(70%). In twenty-nine of these patients, managements for IUA which consisted of endometrial curettage, insertion of intrauterine device
(IUD)
and estrogenprogesterone therapy were made and the results of treatment of these patients were classified and analyzed. The American Fertility Society(AFS) stage in 29 patients after treatment was decreased in 75.9% by follow-up hysteroscopy and
menstrual abnormality was improved in 71.4% Pregnancy was achieved in 7 with 2 abortions. These data suggest that the pregnancy rate is not improved significantly than menstrual symptoms and the prevention of IUA is more important than treatment.
